Private bird photography across Colombia's wild territories
Jinneth Acosta is a Colombian nature photographer and co-founder of Motmot Nature, a photography, conservation and education project she runs with Pedro Bernal. Motmot Nature offers private, field-based bird photography experiences across Colombia's most biodiverse regions — the Central Andes cloud forests, the Caribbean coast, and the Llanos savannas — working with small groups of one or two participants. Her approach is slow and place-based: returning to locations over days, deepening observation, and pairing morning fieldwork with shared image-review sessions. Alongside field experiences she teaches online editing and field workshops, treating photography as a practice of attention and a path toward conservation.
How Jinneth guides
I work alongside you in the field, sharing decisions about light, position and timing rather than just pointing you at a bird. Experiences follow a curated route through a single Colombian region and adapt to season, weather and the rhythm of the territory. We move slowly, return to locations, and gather after each morning to review images together — refining selections and building a personal way of seeing.
